In 2008, Michelle Obama stated that this was the first time in her adult life that she was proud of her country. Well, for me, since Joe Biden has been president, it is the first time in my adult life that I have been absolutely ASHAMED of my country.
You don’t have to look very far to find criticism of the USA. Lots of things are bad. Tune in CNN and they will tell you multiple times how bad President Trump was, and how he was destroying this country. Some other “news” sources will let you know that the liberals/Democrats are all socialists and communists and how they are destroying this country. Black Lives Matter folks with violent protests are actually working on physically destroying this country, burning stores, looting, tearing down statues, etc. I’m sorry, did I say “Violent protests”? (aside: I have just been educated to the fact that burning, smashing, breaking, looting, tearing down, and even killing is an acceptable part of a “peaceful” protest, but only if conducted by liberals.)
Do you work for the FBI or the DOJ? Are you busy chasing down parents who dare to question their WOKE school boards? Do you care more about prosecuting Trump supporters who were at the Capitol on January 6 than you are about fentanyl drug dealers? Are you classifying anyone who disagrees with the Washington establishment as a terrorists? Are you more worried about the Ukraine border than the US southern border? Are you more worried about domestic terrorists (like a parent testifying at a school board meeting) than foreign terrorists (like Iran building a nuclear bomb)? Do you care more about the Jan 6 “insurrection” than you do about Hunter Biden’s illegal activities including lying on a firearms application, doing drugs with hookers, and taking money from the Chinese for our strategic oil reserves. Are you part of what is making this country a pus hole?
I also think this country is bad, but not primarily for any of the reasons I just listed above. “Bad” is a three letter word, and the reason this country is “bad” is also a three letter word: “sin”. Look at the ten commandments. We have put other gods before the almighty God, built idols (possessions, sports figures, Hollywood stars, etc) , have taken his name in vain as a way of life, completely forsaken the sabbath day, dishonor parents, lie, cheat, murder, commit adultery, and covet possessions and wealth that we have not legitimately worked to earn. I think that covers all ten.
One thing we can depend on is for the government to tell us the truth. Oh yeah. Like I did not have sex with that woman (Monica). Read my lips…no new taxes. Sadaam has WMD. Like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. We just need 6 weeks to flatten the curve. We won’t leave any Americans behind in Afghanistan. I never talked to my son Hunter about his business dealings.
One thing we can depend on is for the media to tell us the truth. Oh yeah. Russian collusion. Masks and vaccines will protect you from COVID. Global warming becomes climate change. It is a fact. Deny it and you are a conspiracy theorist. 97 percent of journalists went into journalism NOT to accurately report the news, but to make a difference in society and the world. Remember that next time you watch or read the news. Consumers see programming interrupted by advertising. Media moguls see advertising interrupted by programming. YOU are the product: newspapers, internet, TV, social media. They tell you whatever they think will attract you, truth be damned.
As a medical professional, there is one primary treatment for a festering pus-hole. You gotta lance it, open it up and drain it. It is painful. The alternative is to have systemic sepsis set in and you die. So America, which will it be? A painful drainage of our festering sin, or death of the country. Spiritually that is called repentance, and turning away from sin; putting evil practices out of your life.
And if you are reading this from another country, chances are your country is a festering pus-hole too. China, England, France, Russia, listen guys, you don’t have much to boast about either. There are few places in the world that aren’t running like lemmings headed for the cliff. Be thankful if you live in a country where you have the freedom to view this. In some places, maybe your country, to say that your country sucks will get you a visit from authorities and maybe a vacation in a local jail or prison. Or maybe you just disappear. You know who you are. Maybe you are one of those authorities. If you are, please continue to the next paragraph.
Do you treat others the way you would like to be treated? Do you believe in a God? He exists. He created you. You should get to know him. You will face him someday and will be required to give an account for all you have done and said in this life. For all of us there is a lot of “bad” that will be on the list of what we have done and said. God sent his Son, Yeshua/Jesus, 2000 years ago, and He gave his life so that you can be forgiven of all those bad things you have done. Maybe you think your list is not that big. Or maybe it is really big. Either way, you are in need of his forgiveness and accept his offer to pay the penalty for your sin.
So…..now that you have read these words, you have been warned, and now you have no excuse when you face God, your creator, someday.
