(Under constuction) If you don’t believe in the Bible as the Word of God, I would suggest that you just move on to read something else besides this posting. There are numerous examples in the Bible where plague and pestilence were used as a means of God’s judgment. There are also prophecies of plagues and pestilences to come in the end times. If you do believe in the Bible, please prayerfully consider the following observations:
1.. God is a loving God, a patient God, and a God of mercy and grace. He is also a God of righteousness, justice and judgment. He is patiently longsuffering, but that patience has a limit.
2. God hates sin. He loves the sinner, but hates the sin. Two sins that God particularly hates are the shedding of innocent blood (e.g., abortion) and homosexuality (see Sodom and Gomorrah).
3. The United States, if not the entire world has institutionalized both of these abominations to God: Abortion and Homosexuality. We have thumbed our noses at God. Our media, our government, and even our churches have adopted a sociological perversion as normal, and deemed the Bible and God’s law as a perversion. Churches which once spoke out against sin, now have become in many cases, social organizations, or warriors in the social justice battlefield. Our system punishes those who call “wrong” as “wrong”. People have lost their jobs and businesses as anyone who would dare to call “sin” a “sin” become outcasts and in some cases actually run afoul of the law. It’s OK to kill a baby even up to the moment of birth, but do not dare use the wrong pronoun to address a transgender person, or refuse to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding.
4. The worldwide COVID-19 epidemic could well be a part of God’s judgment for the sins, and in my opinion, for the sins of abortion and homosexuality. God sends his judgment for sin in many ways. Certainly an individual is responsible to God for his own sins. But the Bible does both by example and by declarative statement indicate that God’s judgment can and does take the form of disease.
5. The epidemic has occurred at this time due to the abysmal mistreatment of President Trump. Whether you love President Trump or not, no US President has ever suffered the merciless assault on his character and actions from other politicians and the media. This barrage is not only unprecedented, it is also baseless. Therein is the rub. Naboth was ordered stoned by Jezebel and Ahab, based on the orchestrated lies of unnamed witnesses, in order to illicitly take possession of his coveted vineyard. God does not tolerate the liar. Bearing false witness is one of the “big ten” no-no’s. But we have managed to also institutionalize lying, and managed to somehow deem it acceptable if the ends justifies it. But it is not so in God’s economy. Pontius Pilate asked Jesus the question “What is truth”? We have arrived at a point where the truth is secondary to the agenda.
6. When we read about the plagues that God visited upon the Egyptians (and some of them on the Hebrews as well) when the Hebrews were held as slaves in Egypt, each one of those plagues was specifically directed against one of the Egyptian Gods. (e.g., Ra-the Egyptian sun god; plague-darkness). God will share his glory with none other. (see Isaiah 42:8). This COVID-19 plague has in a similar fashion brought down many of the false gods that this country (if not the world) has come to worship. Want to worship Hollywood? Oh, the theaters are closed. Want to worship sports? They are all cancelled. How about finances? Oh, the economy is tanking. Worship the media? Sponsors are cancelling advertising left and right because their businesses are closed, and people are watching lots of other things. Worshiping technology? Guess where that smartphone, 5G equipment, and many other techno-items are manufactured? You guessed it…China. How about higher education, those bastions of godlessness, social justice, and liberalism run amuck….oh schools are no longer in session, banished to the nether world of see what you can learn on line.
7. Governmental tyrannical behavior has shuttered the doors of churches and synagogues. Under the cover of the myth of keeping us safe and healthy, evil has stifled the one thing that this country needs most: turning to God in prayer. Fortunately as I write this many are reopening, although that varies from state to state. Amazing that it is OK to gather in the streets for social protests (and rioting) over racism, and you can vandalize and burn churches, but you can’t gather in them to pray (or even for funerals in some places). Limitations on the sizes of groups are insane. Some places limiting groups to 10 others 50. You mean in an arena that holds 10,000 people there can only be 50 people? In a church that holds 1000, only 10 people are allowed? In a church drive-in parking lot, NOBODY is allowed? And surprisingly, many people of faith are so willing to give up the freedom to worship together, content with staying home. (OK, I get the argument for at-risk individuals, but that’s not everybody).
8. Are you wearing a mask? Are you wearing two masks? Maybe three? Why? Because it makes scientific sense? Because it must be beneficial? Because “they” tell you to? Are you so scared that you are wearing it when out walking alone, or alone driving your car? Are you motivated by fear? And some jurisdictions have governmental restrictions requiring masks in situations that make no scientific sense whatsoever. Some jurisdictions don’t require masks at all. Fear is an emotion which can supersede the logical, “thinking” part of your brain. There are numerous scriptures in the Bible which tell us to “fear not” (other than a fear of God). Revelation 21:8 tells us that the destiny of the fearful/cowardly is into the Lake of Fire, along with the murderers, immoral, and liars. If the government, CNN, news media, family, or anybody is trying to motivate you with fear, beware that the eventual consequences of that fear may place your eternal soul in jeopardy.
9. Nearly a year and a half after this pandemic has inflicted and infected people throughout the world, people are still as arrogant as ever. There has been no repentance. People are still calling good evil, and evil good. Society has doubled down in thumbing its nose at God. Now variants of the Covid-19 virus have arisen. God is merciful but he is also just. Could it be that that we are far from finished with this disease, trusting in a vaccine instead of trusting in God.
It is time to repent and pray for forgiveness and mercy. Notice I said REPENT first. People are quick to pray for and mercy and ask for God’s help. They are much slower to want to repent, and see where they are falling short of God’s expectations for a holy people. Yes I said HOLY. Even the church has been quick to spread a message of God’s grace and forget that he is a HOLY GOD. Ever read the Old Testament? Oh even that is a misnomer. It is one book that somebody put a divider into. God doesn’t change. To proclaim or believe that the God of the Old Testament was a God of Wrath, but the God of the New Testament is a God of Mercy, is just plain and simply incorrect and unbiblical. God doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His expectations for us are that we should be holy even as he is holy. The Jewish Passover, festival of unleavened bread, commands the removal of all leaven from the household. When was the last time you cleaned out the “old leaven” from your life?
Speaking of medical science, it is amazing how wrong these supposed experts have been both in their predictions and advice. Wear a mask. Don’t wear a mask. You can catch it from surfaces that have been contaminated. No the virus doesn’t survive long on surfaces. Gimme a break! We need tens of thousands of ventilators. Well, maybe not so many after all. Quarantine yourselves for 14 days if you think you have been exposed to COVID-19. Well, maybe 10 days is enough after all. Or 7 days if you have a negative COVID test. Had a vaccine? Supposed to protect you, isn’t is. Oh but maybe it is still possible to catch the disease, so you’d better still wear a mask, socially distance, and most importantly live in fear.
How many of you have put on weight during the pandemic? The average weight gain for Americans is estimated at 15 pounds. This totals around 4.5 billion pounds. This weight gain increases the risk for coronary heart disease, type II diabetes, stroke, and paradoxically, for COVID-19. Pogo was right: We have met the enemy and they is us. Fear, stress, overeating, lack of activity all will prematurely send you to meet your maker. Are you ready to meet your maker?
Very few people ever stop by this website. But interestingly, most of the activity and views in the past month have been from China. I guess they want to see what people here in the US are saying about the “Wuhan” virus and what we are saying about China. So, if you are reading in China, I think your government sucks. Our government sucks too, but not quite as badly as yours does. That’s because neither government rules in the fear of God, but rather from largely selfish ambitions, with little regard for someday having to face an eternal creator to give account for your actions and thoughts. Recently, there have been some views of this site from the US and Canada. Wonder if that is due to curious folks, accidental encounters, or if the government is taking note of folks like me who are sounding the alarm. For this, I feel badly for all of us who have to live under such conditions, but feel worse for those governmental leaders who will have to answer someday for the injustices they have thrust upon the world. They will have to answer for the lies, and unless they repent, will have an eternity in the Lake of Fire.. (Under Construction)
