Civil disobedience refers to nonviolent opposition to a government policy or law by refusing to comply with it. Because the government is far from perfect, it often gets it wrong. Sometimes it is terribly wrong. When it does, it is the duty of the patriot to point out the error in governmental policy, and if necessary act by refusing to comply. History is full of examples of civil disobedience which we robustly applaud. Who hasn’t heard of Rosa Parks refusing to ride in the back of the bus, or Anne Frank hiding Jews from the Nazi’s. How about the “Underground Railroad” before and during the U.S. Civil War? Had they not acted righteously, but clearly in violation of existing laws, we may have never heard of them, nor had the opportunity to celebrate the benefits of their actions to society.
So when do you act in disobedience to the government? Or do you? And if so, what form of activity does this disobedience entail? And if not, have you possibly endorsed a potentially wrong (if not evil) policy? What would you have done in Nazi Germany in 1939? Painted a swastika on your car? Worn a Nazi armband? Maybe been a member of the SS? Turned in a Jew or two to be “relocated”?? Or would you have opposed the Nazi regime? If so, what form of opposition would you have taken? How far would you have gone? Would you have been willing to die as a part of that opposition?
I recently read a book which raised the question of what would have happened in Nazi Germany if every Jew would have taken out a Nazi? So you are going to die anyhow. In the US, we may not have the SS, but we have the FBI actively infiltrating organizing and instigating instances of civil disobedience, then being there ready to pounce and incarcerate the very individuals that they have instigated to oppose unjust laws. In the case of the Jan 6 US Capitol situation, the supposed FBI informants who had infiltrated the crowd did nothing to deter the individuals who “invaded” the Capitol, but, just like the Capitol police, were actively encouraging the “invaders”. Want to be held for months, mistreated, beaten, and humiliated by the authorities? Then just let them peacefully drag you off to jail, deny you legal counsel, punch out your eyeballs, deny you medical treatment, live without running water, a bath or shower, and make you eat off the floor? Think the FBI is honest fair and just? Ask Roger Stone or General Flynn what they think.
Think the government is your friend and on your side? They murder your children by abortion, shove homosexuality and transgenderism down your throats. If you disagree, they at least call you slanderous names, at worst cancel you, file lawsuits against you, financially ruin you, blacklist you, and jail you for daring to stand for God’s word.
So what does morality do in the face of immorality? Well, first do not expect immorality to play fairly. Do not expect immorality to care about you. Immorality must be disarmed. Until it is, it is a virus worse than COVID-19. How it is disarmed may not always be the same. Sometimes it may change. Sometimes it may be silenced. Sometimes it may need to be destroyed. It must always be resisted.
Just like all of us, the bullies don’t like pain and they have family friends and loved ones to go home to. Until the bullies feel the pain, they will continue to be bullies. Usually they are quite the cowards. Only you can choose if you will let them bully you. It has to cost them more to bully you than they are willing to pay. That means it must hurt. Hurting the bully may end up hurting you. Too many of us are unwilling to accept any pain in fighting the battle. Too many of us have been taught to turn the other cheek and are not prepared to inflict pain to the bully. Too many of us have been silenced by Romans 13:1-2 and told to obey the authorities, that is what God wants. However, remember, David had to kill Goliath to defeat the Philistines, not peacefully negotiate a treaty. Just remember that you need to be prepared to go to the mat with the bully. They will take you to the mat whether you want to go or not.
Our founding fathers gave us the Bill of Rights in our Constitution. Since COVID, we have not only allowed the local, state, and federal governments to suspend whatever part of the Constitution they want to, they have convinced many of us to voluntarily agree that they are right. They turn citizen against citizen, when they are the real enemies of freedom. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Disagree with the government at any level: from the school board to the federal government and they will brand you a criminal, or at least a racist white supremacist.
So is it time for another Revolutionary War? Just read the Declaration of Independence for yourself and compare King George to King Joe and Queen Nancy. Liberals call conservatives Domestic terrorists. They send the FBI after parents who dare to speak up for morality at school board meetings, investigating them as terrorists but not after people who burn police stations. That phraseology is just to disguise the fact that THEY are the true terrorists, destroying this country and silently stealing our liberty. When a liberal/progressive accuses you of something, it is often something that they are guilty of themselves, and their accusations are meant to deflect attention from themselves to you.
Expect them to harass you. Expect them to blacklist you. Expect them to cancel you. Expect them to try to silence you. They will shoot through the door. They will tear gas you. They will burn you out. They don’t mind causing you pain. Are you prepared to endure pain? Are you ready to cause them some pain? Are you ready for that, mentally and physically? They are not. We need to be. It is time. NOW.
